It’s usually at this time of year that there’s an influx of ‘New Year, New Me’ blog posts, newsletters and Instagram captions flying around, but this year I don’t want to find a new me, I’m as happy as can be. 2019 is going to be another year of growth, fun, mistakes and figuring out how to do this whole "adult/being a grown-up" thing.
At the start of every New Year they say you are opening a new chapter in your life with 365 fresh, blank pages. However, like in all books, a new chapter is still just a continuation of the chapters that came before. Now I’m not saying we are defined by our past and that a new year isn’t going to change us but when the clock strikes 12 on December 31st, we don’t all magically become a new person, lose that unwanted weight or get that dream job in the blink of an eye. And no matter how badly we want the New Year to be different we can’t ignore what happened in the pervious chapters of our lives.
In fact, that is one of the main things that has molded me into the person I am today. 2015/16 were two of the most difficult years of my entire life. I was married, divorced, I lost friendships I never thought I would, I moved over 1,000 miles away from home, but despite all of that I also fell in love with the most amazing man who has changed my life forever.
I moved to Florida in the summer of 2016 and since then I landed a dream teaching job at an amazing school, made several new friendships, and dove into a world of creativity with my partner in crime. Together we have a YouTube Channel (Adventures with Mackryn), a Disney-inspired Apparel Shop (Mackryn Designs), as well as several personal projects such as my blog, photography and videography with (Mackee Mouse Media) and coming soon--a new Youtube Channel!
2018 was it's own adventure series in the giant library I call LIFE; All we can do is evaluate it, learn from it, and then grow from it. At the end of the day it all comes down to how much work and effort you put into things and that's exactly what I plan to do in 2019--Hustle Honey.

So what should you expect from me in the new year? Well look for way more content: Youtube, Blogs, Instagram and more. I am ready to venture into this year at full speed with no plan on stopping. I know there will be roadblocks and set backs here and there, but I have the most amazing man by my side to help me when the "going gets tough" as they say. My dream is to get married to my best friend, travel as much as humanly possible and then settle down and start our family. Dear Taryn of 2019,
Do not be afraid to DREAM BIG. You have overcome some incredible obstacles and have proven to yourself just how strong you are. Do not compare yourself to others, because in the end You are YOU and that is enough. This is going to be the year of growing your brand, your blog, and creating the foundation, hopefully for years to come. Do not get discouraged because like the wall on your living room says "The Best is Yet To Come".
